Oshoala hits hat-trick as Barcelona spank Valencia

SUPER Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala was the headline maker on Saturday, scoring thrice in Barcelona Femeni’s 7-0 thrashing of Valencia in their Women’s LaLiga clash.

The Nigerian star took home the match ball as Barcelona put up a dominant display and won their eighth straight league game.

Apart from Oshoala’s hat-trick, Mariona bagged a brace while Hansen and Sorreno added one each to complete the rout.

Mariona opened the scoring after just one minute and doubled the score 26 minutes later just as Valencia were getting back into the game.Barcelona took back control and they were soon 3-0 up through Hansen’s 34th minute goal.

Oshoala, who was on from the start, got her first goal and Barcelona’s fourth in the 38th minute.

The Catalan side made it 5-0 before the break through Oshoala again, who finished off Patri’s assist in the 44th minute.Barcelona continued to dominate and Oshoala even missed a penalty and her teammate hit the post early in the second half.

That did not stop the African Player of the Year though as she got her hat-trick goal and Barcelona’s seventh in the 74th minute, 19 minutes after Sorreno had made it 6-0.

The goal rush took Barcelona’s tally this season to 45 goals in the league while they have conceded only one.Oshoala has now scored six goals in eight league games this season as Barcelona stay on top with 24 points from eight matches.Attachments area
