Blind, deaf and dumb elite

WE are who God says we are.

What a very troubling year; 2020.If we are to chronicle Nigerian leadership from the days of secondary education through university, 2020 is supposed to be a magical year. Uhuru! Planned to be the year every conceivable plan would have been achieved in Nigeria.

The year 2020 inadvertently brought the plague like some curse from God. Nigeria was a mess in all ramifications before the baptism of the virus; a virus that spared a people so punished by their own leadership.

God is truly merciful. He knew our leadership virus since the 60s which continues to maim hapless Nigerians. God loves Nigeria and knew it will not be fair to visit her subservient citizenry with another virus; for it will be double jeopardy. Nice, God set it on some of her elite as a warning. Do they listen? 

Is there a president in the land? If there is one it seems obvious it is deaf and dumb. The country continues to sail on a rudderless path.

It’s been very troubling times, however Nigerians own a capacity for tolerance untold. It is well they say, it truly is.

You would wonder how they meet their needs in the absence of work. For over six months running into 2021 there’s been no work;rents are due, energy bills don’t abate, there must be fuel in the generator, fees to pay and food to eat. How do they work this out in the absence of income?

Yet they live like the times of plenty devoid of any form of palliatives to cushion existence. Nonetheless, they experience astronomic increases in rates for services; transport, food items and unheard of inflation with a very devalued currency in the midst of the pandemic!

Only a government and elite so evil will mete this on her people.

Who are Nigerians?

They are people God says they are, subservient, industrous, witty,humourous and very happy collectively in all circumstances.

They have always lived with the covid in their leadership. The virus is represented in the elite who believe the commonwealth is their birth right.

The virus is not new.However it presents itself, Nigerians have seen worse. So, why wonder at the people’s attitude to the pandemic protocols they sneer at?It reflects in a government whose stupidity is geared towards a criminal spend for vaccines that is over 200 percent of its annual health budget. Who does that?

It is true God does not sleep and always hears and answers the cry of the oppressed. Nigerians do not need the vaccines, they need affordable healthcare for all. May those who reside in governance be warned of an Armageddon waiting to consume and render their spoils impotent. Unfortunately, Nigeria is a place the elite is blind, deaf and dumb.
