ZAMFARA: 35 killed in Rayau, others during coordinated attacks

THE Emir of Maru, Alhaji Abubakar Gado Maigari, has lamented the wanton killings that took place during an attack on five villages under his emirate.

Maigari noted that 35 people lost their lives during the attacks.

He disclosed this during a meeting with Governor Bello Matawalle who paid a sympathy visit to the affected villages.

The villages according to the Emir are Dutsin Gari, Asha-lafiya, Rayau, Munkuru, Mahuta and Talli.

He maintained that the affected communities were currently in a terrible situation, calling on the Governor to come to their aid.

Reacting to the ugly incident,Governor Matawalle sympathized with the communities, assuring them that his administration would soon come to their aid.

He also assured them that adequate security personnel would be deployed to the area to restore peace so that the people could go back to their respective villages.

“I want to sincerely sympathize with you over the attacks and loss of your loved ones.

“I assure you that I will do everything within my powers to make sure that you go back to your respective villages.

“I will very soon send some relief materials to all of you as soon as possible,” Matawalle said.

The Governor expressed disgust over the recent attacks and loss of lives of some people in the area, lamenting that some heartless politicians were happy with the tragedies.

He declared that his administration would soon fish out those people and punish them to serve as a deterrent to others.
