THE heavens literally came down on Sunday afternoon at the Glory Tabernacle Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Abuja when Adeola Oni launched her debut musical album titled, ‘Praise God’.

The golden voice of Adeola rang over the rhythms and background vocals provided by The Levites, the choir arm of the church. The sound rendition and the vibrations seem to be from a world class studio and it was hard to believe that all that came during the launching from only the church instruments and the background vocals from the church choir. A church member was moved to launch the album because, according to her, while the renditions were on, she saw angels ascending and descending. She left her seat and went to the back of the hall and still saw the scene. She was moved to launch the album and be part of the blessing that was flowing.

The usual scenario in such album launch is that an already recorded compact disc will provide the rhythm and background vocals while the artiste does the voice over; but this was different – it was live with all the lyrics and rhythms produced before a live audience. The sound reproduction was crisp and clean and the audience was moved to join in praise when Adeola rendered two of the songs – I worship you and Jesus I don come in the six album package.

Pastor Chinedu Ezekwesili, who joined the launching from Connecticut, USA with his wife, Oby, said Adeola’s songs were borne out of a true desire to worship God, not for fame or for money. He added that being the fourth Levite to produce a world class gospel music package shows the grace and anointing that flows in the church choir.

The Chairman of the event and President of the Church’s Men’s Fellowship, Major General Henry Ayamasaowei, added that when Adeola contacted him before production formalities started, she told him she received all the songs through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Adeola herself confirmed that her songs were divinely inspired and directed.

Adeola did not need to hire session men or look for those to provide the background vocals; these were all available within the church choir and she just tapped into the provision, herself, a Levite; but the quality of production depicts some divine presence. She would be the fourth member of the choir in two years to produce a music album. The album was mixed and mastered at Reality Multimedia Productions Limited in Abuja and features six tracks: I worship you, Beat the drums, All hail the power of Jesus, Jesus I don come, Jesus at the door, and Know Jesus.
