LASEMA, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, rescued four adults following a road accident involving an ambulance and a minivan (Korope).

At about 12:29 p.m., the accident occurred at Stadium, inward barracks of Ikorodu Road.

The ambulance, which was in convoy, rammed into a van with number plates AKD 676YC, trapping the victims (all males).

However, they were rescued by emergency responders and taken to the Trauma Center in Gbagada.

Although the incident affected traffic in the area, it was handled by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA.

Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, LASEMA’s Director-General, confirmed the incident, saying that there was no loss of life, as all victims suffered different degrees of injuries.

He said: “Further investigation revealed that the ambulance hit the minivan behind while on the motion.

“No loss of lives, but four adult males were left with injuries and were attended by the agency’s premedical team at the incident scene and, after that, taken to Randle General Hospital, Surulere, for further medical attention.

“The agency’s Paramedical Team has taken the victims to the Trauma Centre in Gbagada.”

At press time, he said the operation had been concluded, adding, “Operation concluded. Agency’s Response Team was heading back to base.”
