Let your Voice shine in your Art

There are no bad works of art… there are only works of art that you don’t like (whatever your reasons maybe)… As a poet, your first business is to express yourself, doing so as beautifully as you can… no artist can make perfect poetry

POETRY can be defined as creative writing in verse or language that pays conscious attention to patterns and rhythms. In today’s world, however, is this definition universally accepted? Many writers have argued that poetry or any work of art should not be defined.

Come to think of it…

When your work of art connects, has pieces of truths that resonate with your audience that they can live with even after they have left that work of art; when your work of art teaches or shows your audience something they didn’t know or needed to be reminded of;

When your work of art is beautiful; and since beauty is an intricate concept, and can change based on who its beholder is, you have to be disciplined to be a good judge in determining beauty while understanding that art should not comprise of beauty alone but also with the embodiment of other little details like style, imageries, relatability, etc that also have a beautiful touch; to grasp the soul of whosoever is digesting your work;

When your work of art is creative, intriguing, or interesting, would you say because it isn’t “deep enough” or doesn’t follow the standards of accepted poetry it shouldn’t be enjoyed, or not art worthy?

POETRY is a work of art, and works of art in any form should be enjoyed because it has the power to open your mind to so much more while keeping you engaged to the arrangement of the artist’s thoughts in a way that you could relate to and enjoy. There are no bad works of art. There are only works of art that you don’t like (whatever your reasons maybe)

As a poet or writer, you also need to understand that the inability of an individual to see the beauty in your work is less of your problem and should not disturb you. Bear in mind that many people have got a poor sense of beauty and imagery, along with a terrible span of attention and biases that remain unknown to you. As a poet, your first business is to express yourself, doing so as beautifully as you can.

POETRY has evolved into so much more. It has become a good way by which people express themselves, evoke the emotions of people, build confidence, and also help people find themselves. And no, no artist can make perfect poetry. There would be mistakes on your journey as an artist, poet, or writer. Mistakes are indeed necessary; but with every piece you make, it would work together into you being the best version of you.

And sometimes, while you might want to compare your work of art because you feel insecure about what people would say and if they would like it, you need to understand that in being the best version of you, you need to find you, your voice and allow it speak.
