MEN from the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, have detained 48 suspected offenders for a variety of offences throughout the state.

The suspects, two of whom are females, were arrested for offences ranging from armed robbery to kidnapping, attempted murder, burglary, bank fraud, cultism, theft, assault, and disobedience to the state’s anti-open grazing statute, among others.

Among the exhibits recovered from the accused and displayed were two cars, a generator set, some clothing materials, electric transformer wires, and several counterfeit dollar bills.

The Commander of the Amotekun Corps in the state, Adetunji Adeleye, paraded the suspects before reporters at the Corps’ headquarters in Akure. He revealed that all of the suspects, some of whom were caught in the act, confessed to their crimes.

According to Adeleye, approximately 600 criminals captured in the state by corps personnel in the last six months are currently being prosecuted and, if found guilty, would be transported to correctional facilities.

The Amotekun boss also noted that the rate of kidnapping in the state’s Ose Local Government Area has significantly decreased as a result of Amotekun agents’ extensive presence in the area.

He advised criminals to either desist or leave the state, as they would be captured by corps members.
