Man United agree €90m fee to sign Sancho from Dortmund

MANCHESTER United will announce the signing of Jadon Sancho after the European Championship, various reports claimed on Wednesday night.

The England forward is currently a part of the Three Lions squad at Euro 2020 preparing for Friday’s quarter-final against Ukraine.

The reports claimed United have agreed a deal in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the signing of the 21-year-old.
Depending on the outlet, the reported transfer fee ranges from €85m to €90m.

The major sticking points holding up the deal were said to be the transfer fee and the payment structure, which were both resolved on Wednesday.

Sancho was widely expected to join United last season but the Premier League club failed to meet Dortmund’s valuation despite having agreed personal terms with the player.

The forward suffered a dip in form and injury at the beginning of the season but finished the campaign strongly, contributing 16 goals and 20 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.

With two years left on Sancho’s contract, Dortmund had to lower their asking price from around the reported £110m of last season and United have now got their main transfer target.

Sancho began his career at Watford’s academy before joining Manchester City in 2015, but he left for Dortmund in 2017 after declining the offer of a new contract at the Etihad.

He has scored 50 goals in 137 appearances for the German club.
