Nigerian artiste Patoranking has claimed, with receipts, that he played a big role in convincing Thomas Partey to join Arsenal.
Ghana midfielder Partey left Atletico Madrid for the London club on Monday after Arsenal paid his £45m release clause.
Reggae dancehall superstar Patoranking is an avowed Arsenal fan and made public calls for Partey to join the Gunners long before Monday’s transfer deadline day move.
After the high-profile transfer was confirmed on Monday night, Patoranking — whose ‘Abule’ song is currently a big hit — shared a private conversation he had with Partey as he made a case for the Arsenal switch.
Patoranking tweeted: “Tell @arsenal to cut me my check…I started this conversation since June #Arsenal”, then posted a screenshot of his conversation with Partey.
The exchange, which has a June 10, 4.17pm timestamp, goes thus — Patoranking: “Come to Arsenal bro.”
Partey replies: “Hahaha broooo. Hope you good. I love your music haha. I’m in love.
Patoranking responds: ” I’m a big fan of you as well.”
After a three-hour pause, Partey replies: “Thanks so much bro. One day we will link up.”
Patoranking adds: “Most definitely. All the best.”
Partey ends the conversation with: “Thanks so much. All the best.”

Arsenal fans were very excited on Monday night when it was confirmed that Partey, one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, would be playing for their club.
