MORE artistes are joining the campaign to end the unbecoming acts of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) of the Nigeria Police Force.

The latest entrants are A list Nigerian actress and producer, Genevieve Nnaji and John Boyega, the popular British-Nigerian actor, who featured in Star Wars.

Nnaji called the attention of President Buhari to the brutality faced by Nigerian youths in the hands of the squad.

In her open letter to the president, the actress-producer wrote about how her 13-year old niece was harrassed by SARS for carrying a laptop. She was slapped across the face for daring to ask why the laptop was seized.

Genevieve talked about how everyone is affected and called on the president to do something about the situation.

“Leaders will come and go, but we the people will remain. We will survive. We always have. But we won’t forget. Right now, your administration is standing in the way of our survival. If the country is unwilling to be great, the least you can do is let us be great ourselves,” she wrote.

Star Wars actor, Boyega also lent his voice to the #EndSARS protests currently spreading across cities of Nigeria.

He took to his page this afternoon to tweet about how the youths in Nigeria deserve good leadership and guidance.

“We can’t simply enjoy Banana Island every December without noticing the concrete wall placed between Nigerians and their potential. The limitations become unbearable for them and this needs serious attention.

“Three years ago Nigeria’s police chief re-organised SARS after public condemnation about the violence that came with their operations. That change has done nothing for Nigerians and today many are still in danger.”

UPSCALE Disc Jockey, DJ Cuppy has also lend her voice to the #EndSARS campaign.

She said although she has not been directly affected by the reported brutality by the squad, she must show concern for what her fans are concerned about.

DJ Cuppy is the daughter of multi-billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola.

”Going against the advice of those around me, but it doesn’t feel right. Silence can say so much. My fellow Nigerians, forgive me for taking so long to comment,” she said.

She pointed out that she would be lying if she were to say she’s directly affected by SARS but it’s enough for her to care because a lot of her fans and even colleagues are affected by it.

So, she decided to support them.
