Reps summon IGP over #EndSARS protests

AN committee set up by the House of Representatives on the ongoing nationwide protests against the now-disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force, has summoned the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.

This is following the committee’s series of meetings on the demands of the Nigerian youth who have since poured into the streets to protest against the extortion, extra-judicial killings and allied high-handedness of the Nigeria Police Force, particularly the anti-robbery squad.

The IGP is to appear before the special panel on October 22, 2020.

The panel will also conduct townhall meetings across the country for a public hearing that will involve all Nigerians on the matter.
