Mourinho mocks Wenger, declares Kane ready, praises Bale’s fitness

JOSE Mourinho threw shade at Arsene Wenger when he was reminded that the Frenchman did not mention him in his new autobiography, ‘My Life in Red and White’.

“Because he never beat me. You’re not going to do a chapter about 12/14 matches and never win one so why should he speak about me? A book is a thing to make you happy, make you proud so I understand perfectly,” Mourinho said.

Wenger actually did beat Mourinho although the Portuguese won the vast majority of their encounters and both men do not have a friendly relationship, even clashing physically once.

Meanwhile, Harry Kane is fit enough to start for Tottenham Hotspur against West Ham in the Premier  League on Sunday after struggling with a muscle problem on international duty, Mourinho has revealed.

“He arrived not injured and in condition to start the match on Sunday and that is the most important thing for me,” Spurs manager Mourinho said during his pre-match press conference on Friday.

However, Eric Dier is a doubt while Gareth Bale could make his first appearance since returning to the club on loan from Real Madrid.

“He wanted to play since the day he arrived, but it was not possible,” Mourinho said of Bale. “I am not going to tell you if he is going to play, what I can tell you is that he is working very well, he is working in the way he was not able to do for a long time.

“The last week, especially Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, the planning of the sessions, had a big focus on him and he is in pretty good condition.”

Tottenham are in very high spirits after their 6-1 win over 10-man Manchester United before the international break.
