NIGERIAN youths have been challenged not to give up their quest to put an end to police brutality and bad governance in the country.
Two leading activists during the EndSARS movement, Oduala Olorunrinu, popularly known as Rinu and the fire-brand activist Aisha Yesufu gave this charge recently in separate interview with the founder of Joy, Inc., Chude Jideonwo.
Rinu, one of the visible advocates of the exercise expressed displeasure with the government for not taking proactive measures to quell the agitation of the youths.
“We expect even someone as low as a DPO to be sacked already,” she said.
“At least, let us see something but nothing is happening. This only means that there is some kind of secrecy around it and we will unravel it. Right now, the people’s voice is in unity and we are not stopping. This is the revolution we have all been looking for.”
On her part, Yesufu advised the youths to remain undeterred in their pursuit of justice and good governance.
According to the vocal critic who gained widespread followership over a picture holding her fist in the air, “the fact is that the Nigerian youth now have a voice and nobody can call them lazy again”.
She added that “they have gotten the government where they wanted them to be.
“Despite the use of brute force and using their normal shenanigans to bring in thugs, this movement remains unwavering”.
She, however, noted that ” this is a Marathon, it is not a sprint. We need to keep going.”
