NFF appoints new media officers for Super Eagles, Super Falcons

THE Nigeria Football Federation today announced the appointments of Babafemi Raji and Oluchi Tobe-Chukwu as the new media officers of the Super Eagles and the Super Falcons.

The appointments were confirmed via a press release from the NFF’s communications department made available to Naija Times.

Raji, who is currently the Group Manager, Programmes and Contents of Lagos radio station ,Brila FM, replaces Toyin Ibitoye who has been in the post since 2015.

Raji worked with the Nigerian Television Authority between from 2003 to 2006 while still a student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife.

After getting his Bachelor of Arts degree in English, he joined Brila FM in 2008.

He was also a member of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Media Committee set up by the tournament sponsors.

Tobe-Chukwu is taking over from Jane Onyinye Nweze as the media officer of the senior women’s national team.

The new Super Falcons media officer is a broadcaster and women’s football advocate and a keen follower of the domestic women’s league. 

A Federal Government scholar as the second best graduating student in mass communication at the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, she holds a master’s degree in the same discipline from the Lagos State University. 

Tobe-Chukwu, is a former footballer herself, having played for clubs like Hamza Queens, Flaming Flamingos and Ibom Angels before pursuing her education further.

NFF’s Director of Media and Communications, Ademola Olajire, praised Ibitoye and Nweze for the commendable jobs they did while they were with the Super Eagles and the Super Falcons respectively.

 “Mr Ibitoye and Miss Nweze were superb to work with,” Olajire stated.

“They demonstrated excellent people skills and acuity, and were diligent, energetic and knowledgeable. We wish them the very best in their endeavours going forward.”
