IPMAN assures of adequate fuel supply

THE Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has dispelled rumours of purported scarcity of petroleum products.

In particular, it gave assurance that marketers have adequate supply across the North Western states.

The assurance comes against the background of anxiety raised by the queues noticed at filling stations in the FCT area and surrounding states, which has led to panic buying by members of the public.

IPMAN chairman in Kano, Bashir Dan-Malam, gave the assurance at a press briefing on Wednesday, October 28.

He noted that the suspension of loading at the Kano Depot was deliberate to avoid possible disruption of operations by the #EndSARS protesters.

According to Dan-Malam, members have been directed to reopen filling stations across the Kano Zone.

He added thatthere was no need for motorists and other members of the public to engage in panic-buying of the commodity.

Marketers, he said, are committed to transporting the product to all states including Katsina, Bauchi, Yobe and Jigawa.

The IPMAN chairman commended the Managing Director of Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC), Lawal Musa, for directing various depots in Nigeria to resume operation after the nationwide #EndSARS protests.

He noted that introduction of the online solution, which is popularly known as PPMC Customer Express Portal by the PPMC has helped to eliminate all the stress marketers used to experience while carrying out their business.

Dan-Malam also commended the Mele Kyari-led Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) management for their commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency in the oil and gas industry.

He pledged that the marketers will continue to support the Federal Government to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply across the nooks and crannies of the country.
