How I met TeeBillz — Tiwa Savage

THE last is yet to be heard about the estranged couple – Tiwa Savage and TeeBlillz.

The marriage which had been troublous before it finally caved in, in the early part of 2016 still attracts media attention each time it is brought to the public space.

Tiwa made another revelation recently in an interview with Ebuka on BlackBox when she talked about how she met TeeBillz at a concert in Los Angeles, after she had sent her CV to him earlier without getting a response.

Tiwa said a guy had advised her to move over from the American A&Rs to the Nigerian music industry.

She was not so familiar with the home industry but the guy assured her that TeeBillz could be of assistance.

She then sent her CV to Teebillz, but got no response; not even a call.  

However, fate still brought them together when she attended a concert by Timaya in Los Angeles and here was TeeBillz also.

She walked up to him and asked why he neither responded to her mail nor called her back. “He was like who are you? And I said I am Tiwa, I sent you my CV.” 

Teebillz had to call her the following day and told her he liked her vocals. He advised her to move back to Nigeria.

She took the advice and they started working together. What started as a work relationship grew into a romantic pedigree.

According to Tiwa, she was close to the man that she would even drop him off at different women’s houses.

It was such that the press even started speculating that they were dating then, but they were not.

They ended up getting married in 2013 but the marriage crashed in 2016 after she washed their dirty linens in the public, in an interview.

According to the music star, she had to clear the air on what was going on because names were mentioned. She said she did not know it would trend to the level it did.

As a consequence she lost some endorsements and had to work to retain others.

The controversy in their home had been a matter of public discussion especially after snippets of what was going on became public knowledge.

TeeBillz reportedly took to the social media to spill the bean on the marriage.

He was later reported to have contemplated suicide by attempting to jump off the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge in Lagos.

The allegations brought on a lot of heat and discussions on social media, with many polarising opinions being offered.

However, in an exclusive interview with Azuka Ogujiuba, a ThisDay Editor, which was presented by Pulse TV then, Tiwa addressed the issues raised by TeeBillz and also made emotional revelations about him. She even cried while doing so.
