Reps to IGP: Forward list of slain policemen, damaged stations

THE House of Representatives has asked the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to make a list of officers killed during the recent #EndSARS protests available to it.

Chairman of the House Committee on Police Affairs, Bello Kumo, disclosed this to the IGP today when he appeared before the lawmakers in Abuja on Tuesday for 2021 budget defence.

Kumo said that budgetary allocation would be made to compensate for the slain policemen and repair the damaged or burnt stations.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had said 33 police personnel were killed during the protests while scores were injured.

He added that several police stations were also set ablaze.
He disclosed this during his tour to inspect damaged police stations and encourage demoralised police officers to go back to their duty posts.

Kumo told the police boss that the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila; Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Wase, and the leadership of the House mandated him to convey the instruction to him (Adamu).
