Kanu to Buhari: We’ll consider other options to actualise Biafra if…

LEADER of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu says President Buhari must order a referendum.

He threatened the IPOB would be forced to consider other options to actualise the independent nation of Biafra.

Kanu, who escaped from Nigeria while being tried for treason, made his position known in a series of tweets.

Quoting the founder of modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the IPOB leader said “sovereignity is not given; it is taken”.

He maintained that separation would attract many benefits to Nigeria, citing examples of nations that thrived after separation.
“Sovereignty is not given, it is taken – Atatürk of Turkey.

“Now, I say unto @NGRPresident, that if you don’t concede to a Referendum for the peaceful dissolution of Nigeria, there will come a time when the indigenous peoples of #Nigeria will consider other options. #WeMove
“Separation comes with quantum benefits. Soviet Union, Ethiopia, Czechoslovakia, etc suffered when they were held in unity by force,” Kanu wrote.

He reiterated that the nations performed better after than before separation.

“But now that they are separated, the new nations prospered more than the old. #Nigeria needs to learn that separation can be beneficial to all,” he noted
