THE Leone Stars had a feel of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Thursday night ahead of Friday’s encounter with the Super Eagles.
The two teams will meet at the newly refurbished stadium for a spot at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Sierra Leone team trained for about one hour, starting from around 5pm and left the pitch just as the Super Eagles arrived for their own training session.
The team trained behind closed doors, blocking access for journalists who wanted to catch a glimpse of Nigeria’s opponents.
The Leone Stars are in desperate need of a win on Friday to keep their flagging hopes alive.
They are without a win in two matches, losing one and drawing one of their first two qualifying matches.
In contrast, a win for the Super Eagles will see them close to qualifying for their second straight AFCON finals, having won their first two matches in the qualifying group against Benin Republic and Lesotho.
The Super Eagles travel to Freetown for the second of the two fixtures with the Leone Stars on Tuesday.
