ONDO: Abducted wife of Chief of Staff to Akeredolu regains freedom

WIFE of Chief of Staff to Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo State, Sade Ale, who was abducted on Thursday has regained her freedom.

Sade was said to have been abducted at Owena in Idanre local government area of the state.

Ale’s vehicle was attacked and she was forced away alongside her driver and another woman but the driver was later released.

But on Saturday morning, the victims were reportedly rescued by men of the Ondo State Security Network also known as Amotekun Corps in collaboration with local hunters and vigilante in the area.

The Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed the release of the wife of the Chief of Staff.

He said it was too early to disclose details of the rescue operation but he revealed that some suspects had been arrested.

“We thank God for the achievement, it was not easy. But we are are able to arrest some persons in connection with the matter,” Adeleye was quoted as saying.

The corps commander also said some suspects had been arrested in connection with the murder of the Olufon of Ifon, Oba Israel Adeusi, who was killed by some gunmen on Thursday.

“We are closing in on the hoodlums. We also arrested some persons at Elegbeka in connection with the killing of the monarch. But they are under interrogation and they are helping us with useful information,” he said.

Akeredolu had on Friday lamented over the high rate of insecurity in his state.

The governor was reacting to the Thursday killing of the monarch.
