NIGERIA defender William Troost-Ekong is delighted as Watford continued their push for promotion with a win on Tuesday night.
The centre-back was in full-time action at Vicarage Road when Watford defeated Rotherham United 2-0 in continuation of their quest for a quick return to the Premier League.
Christian Kabasele and Troy Deeney scored first-half goals to give the Hornets the win that kept them in contention.
Tuesday night was also the first time in nine months that fans were allowed in at Vicarage Road as the government relaxed some of its coronavirus restrictions.
“Can’t beat that +3 feeling! Nice to have some of you back in the stadium,” Troost-Ekong tweeted on Wednesday.
The Super Eagles star joined Watford from Serie A club Udinese at the beginning of the season and he has been instrumental in their rise up the Championship table.
The 27-year-old has played nine Championship matches for Watford and scored one goal.
Watford, who were relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season, are third in the Championship table with 30 points from 17 matches, one point off the leaders.
Incidentally, the two clubs ahead of Watford, Bournemouth and Norwich City, were also relegated from the Premier League last season.
