LIONEL Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski were named as the three finalists for The Best FIFA Men’s Player of the The Best FIFA Football Awards on Friday.
Barcelona forward Messi and Juventus forward Ronaldo have been named the best player in the world 11 times between them, while Bayern Munich striker Lewandowski is looking for his first global award.
Having won the Bundesliga, Champions League and German Cup treble however, Poland striker Lewandowski is favourite to beat the two serial winners this time.
Manchester City’s English player Lucy Bronze, Chelsea’s Pernie Harder and France’s Wendie Renard are the finalists for the women’s award, with Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Bayern Munich’s Hansi Flick in the running for the men’s coach award.
Finalists were also announced for the Puskad award, best women’s coach, as well as best men’s and women’s goalkeepers.
The winners, including those of the FIFA Fan Award and the FIFA Fair Play Award, will be announced on 17 December in a TV show broadcast live.
