Mourinho, Fernandes, Aina win November Premier League awards

TOTTENHAM Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for November after leading his side to the top of the table.

The Premier League announced the former Chelsea manager as the winner on Friday as he beat current Chelsea manager Frank Lampard and other managers to the award.

During the month, Tottenham Hotspur won three of their four Premier League fixtures: victories over Brighton, West Brom and Manchester City, and a draw with Chelsea.

Tottenham Hotspur are top of the table with 24 points, just ahead of Liverpool on goal difference.

For the Premier League Player of the Month award, Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes beat a strong field to win for November.

It is the third time the Portugal star has won the award since he joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in late January.

Fernandes played four Premier League games in November and made five goal contributions: four goals and one assist, the most in the league for the month.

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina also won an award in November, the Premier League Goal of the Month.

The Nigerian at Fulham on loan from Serie A club Torino scored just one goal in the month under review but it was a stunning strike.

Aina struck a swerving, unstoppable shot from the edge of the West Brom box with his left foot after cutting in from the right to give Fulham their first league win of the season.

Fulham won the game 2-0 on 2 November with Aina’s award-winning goal cementing the rare victory at Craven Cottage for Scott Parker’s side.

Aina beat off stiff competition from James Ward-Prowse, Danny Ings, Jamie Vardy, Eberechi Eze, Solly March, Riyad Mahrez and Raphinha.
