*Passes vote of no confidence on heads of security agencies
THE Senate, on Tuesday, summoned the Minister of Defence, the service chiefs, and heads of the Nigerian Police Force and the Department of State Service over the growing insecurity situation in the country.
The upper chamber made the resolution following a motion moved by Senator Bello Mandiya from Katsina State, where over 330 students of a secondary school have been recently abducted by people believed to be bandits.
The red chamber also urged President Buhari to implement the report of the Senate Committee on Security challenges without further delay.
Reacting to the recent abduction, members of the upper chamber did not hide their displeasure during their various contributions to the motions as they unanimously passed a vote-of-no-confidence on the various heads of security agencies in the country over their inability to prevent the abduction of the innocent children.
They also expressed deep frustration that Buhari had consistently ignore all resolutions passed by the Senate on the issue of insecurity in the country. They also made a renewed call for the sack of the service chiefs.
