KATSINA: 84 Islamiya school students abducted, rescued at Unguwan Alkasim

THE Katsina State Police Command has announced the abduction and rescue of 84 Islamiya school students in Mahuta town of Dandume Local Government.

Spokesman of the state police command, SP Gambo Isa, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that the students were returning from Maulud celebrations at Unguwan Alkasim village when the bandits abducted them.

The bandits were also said to have rustled 12cows and many items during the attack.

However, it took the joint efforts of the Puff Adder, the army and vigilante group who overpowered the bandits during fierce gun “duel” to rescue the 84 kidnapped victims and the items looted.

As of the time of filing this report search parties were combing the area with a view of arresting the injured bandits and recovering the corpses of those who lost their lives.
