MANCHESTER United made club history on Saturday night when they held Arsenal to a 0-0 Premier League draw at the Emirates Stadium.
The result was the Red Devils’ 18th consecutive one without defeat away from home in the league, the most they have gone without losing ever.
The last time United lost away in the league was in February 2020, and during the run, they have won 13 matches and drawn five and won more points in that period, 44, than any other Premier League club.
The goalless draw also saw Arsenal claim a fourth consecutive clean sheet at home.
The match itself had few chances, the best ones falling to Edinson Cavani, who shot wide from inside Arsenal’s six-yard box twice, and Alexandre Lacazette who hit the post for Arsenal from a freekick.
Arsenal were without key players Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Bukayo Saka and Kieran Tierney, and they dropped deep most of the first half, inviting United to have a go at them.
The Gunners were however more positive after the break and they caused United problems, with Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe, Emile Smith Rowe and substitute Willian creating decent openings.
The draw left United still in second place with 41 points from 21 matches, three points behind leaders Manchester City who have played one game fewer.
Arsenal moved past Chelsea to eighth with 31 points from 21 matches.
