Parma sign Nigerian teenager Zirkzee from Bayern Munich

PARMA have signed Nigerian striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bayern Munich, the Serie A club confirmed on Monday night.

He is joining on a short-term loan deal with an option to make his stay permanent.

“Parma Calcio are delighted to announce the signing of Joshua Zirkzee (22.5.2001, Schiedam) from Fußball-Club Bayern München on a temporary basis until 30/06/2021, after which the Club will have the option to make the transfer permanent,” the Italian club announced on their official website.

Zirkzee is a Dutch U-21 international with Nigerian heritage and he joined Bayern’s U-17s in 2018 from Feyenoord Youth.

The 19-year-old has made four senior appearances for the European champions this season: three in the Bundesliga, one in the UEFA Champions League and one in the German Super Cup.

He made his senior Bayern Munich debut last season and played 13 times for the senior team, scoring four goals.

In all, Zirkzee has played 17 matches for the Bayern Munich first team, contributing four goals and one assist.
