“In the aboundance of water, the foolish is thirsty” sings Bob, the legend.
TIME has gone weary of its age, yet
It has shun the scarlet sun from setting
There were times when:
Generation of yesteryears sat at the feet of walking sticks
And ate from the plate of old days and the wishes of better years,
Wishes of a better future.
Times when children were stripped of their right to life; became
Masters of hideous places in the forests
Hunters of flesh and lickers of blood
Just to grant the wishes for better years;
But mothers were at loss, they birth with mourning.
In the comfort of vulgar wealth, they lay-
Promiscuous politicians piloting pleasure with deceit
Raising fists of disorderliness
Granting feasts of uncontentedness
For years this roller coaster has been rolling,
Yet, the light is yet to come through.
How long will our people wander in the wilderness searching for nothingness
How long should we fold our hands behind our back and eat with our nose,
How much more ” children are the leaders of tomorrow” should we feed to the ears of our unborn?
What the elders can see while sitting, young ones can now see, if they climb the tree.
That which we seek is within our reach.
So, dear young ones, isn’t it high time the aged eyes were laid to rest?
Isn’t it high time we took over our right to leadership?
