Buhari meets with Uzodinma in Aso Villa

PRESIDENT Buhari, today,  met with the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja

According to the message from the Personal Assistant to the President on Media, Buhari Salisu, the meeting was held behind closed doors.

Salisu, however, shared photos from the meeting to prove that the governor actually was at the villa.

“President @MBuhari receives Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma in State House on 23rd Feb 2021,” Sallau wrote on Twitter.

Though details of the meeting are yet to be disclosed, the meeting may not be unconnected with with frosty relationship between Uzodinma and his predecessor in office, Okorocha.

It is common knowledge that there is no love lost between the duo despite belonging to the same political party which is the ruling All Progressives Congress.

But the bad blood between them came to a head two days ago when there was a confrontation between the loyalists of both politicians.

What led to the confrontation was the decision of the ex-governor to forcefully gain access to Royal Spring Palm Estate, purportedly owned by his wife, which had been sealed by the state government.

The development led to the arrest of the immediate past  Governor of the state, Senator Rochas Okorocha and 14 of his aides.

While Okorocha was released, according to the state government, “on medical grounds” his aides had since been arraigned at the Magistrate Court band granted N70 million bail.
