ADMIRAL Joe Aikhomu, younger brother of former military Vice-President, Admiral Augustus Aikhomu (rtd) is dead.
The former Chief of Administration of Nigerian Navy was said to have died of Covid-19 complications in Abuja this morning.
He was well-versed in maritime operations and logistics with special reference to the waters of the Gulf of Guinea.
Joe’s elder brother, the late Augustus, was Vice-President during General (rtd) Ibrahim Babangida’s reign as Head of States.
Aikhomu was a member of the investigative panel on arms procurement, between 2007 and 2015, which was set up by President Buhari during his first tenure.
The panel was disbanded in February 2017.

He held the position until he breathed his last this morning.
He was conferred with a traditional title by the Okaijesan of Esanland and Ojirrua of Irrua, HRH Alhaji W.O. Momodu JP in August 2020.
