LAGOS: State university promotes 11 professors, 296 other staff

THE State University has promoted 11 professors and 296 other members of staff of the institution.

This development was contained in a press statement issued by the Coordinator of LASU Centre for Information, Press and Public Relations, Ademola, titled, ‘LASU Governing Council approves promotion of 11 new professors, 12 associate professors, 18 other academic staff and 266 non-academic staff’.

He said the promotions were approved by the council during its 125th statutory meeting on February 18.

According to the release, the highest figures of those promoted came from the non-academic staff.

The statement said, “The Lagos State University Governing Council at its 125th Statutory Meeting of Thursday, 18th February 2021, considered and approved the promotion of Forty-One (41), Academic Staff, consisting of 11 Professors, 12 Associate Professors and 18 others, as well as 266 Non-Academic Staff consisting of two Deputy Registrars and two Deputy Bursars.

“The breakdown is as follows – Associate Professor to Professor : 11; Senior Lecturer to Associate Professor: 12; Lecturer 1 to Senior Lecturer: 14; Senior Librarian to Principal Librarian: one; Lecturer I to Lecturer II: one; Assistant Lecturer to Lecturer II: one; Librarian I to Senior Librarian: one.

“Details of the appointments have been published in LASU Official bulletin number LASU/CIPPR/2128 dated 1st March, 2021.”
