OYO: OPC, others arrest notorious warlord, Iskilu Wakilu, in Ibarapaland

AFTER many years of terrorising the residents of Ayete in Ibarapa North Local Government of the state, the notorious warlord, Iskilu Wakili has been arrested.

Iskilu was arrested by a joint team of Ibarapa security operatives, including Oodua People’s Congress, Vigilante, and other groups who had been on his trail for almost  a week.

He was said to have engaged the “local” security operatives in a gun duel.

There had been reports that Wakili and his gang were involved in the killings and kidnapping of several people in Ibarapa, Oke Ogun, Oyo State.

He was said to have challenged the self-acclaimed Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho, to a duel boasting that he would make a mincemeat of him.

According to the King of Ayete, Wakilu took delight in raping and kidnapping the residents of the community and even took over a portion of the agrarian community land where he reigned as King without flag erected.

Wakili was nabbed barely seven days after his second-in-command, Isiaka Muhammadu, was arrested alongside four others.
