How Joshua can beat Tyson Fury in £200m bout — Ruiz Jr

THE only man to ever defeat Anthony Joshua in his professional career, Andy Ruiz Jr, has given the world heavyweight champion tips on how to win his next fight.

Mexican heavyweight Ruiz recorded a stunning victory over British-Nigerian Joshua in the summer of 2019 in one of boxing’s biggest upsets.

Joshua exacted his revenge six months later and he is now aiming to unify the world heavyweight titles.

The 31-year-old is set to fight Tyson Fury in a unification bout later this year.

World Boxing Council champion Fury is the bookies’ favourite to beat Joshua, who holds the World Boxing Association, International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Organisation belts.However, Ruiz Jr believes his old adversary has a shot if he adopts the right strategy.

“Fury has a really weird style,” Ruiz Jr. told the Daily Mail.

“I feel if Joshua doesn’t box around – like he did to me – and goes forward, throws his combinations, I think Anthony will pull out the victory.”

Ruiz Jr also revealed that Joshua sent him a message of encouragement after their rematch which Joshua won. 

“There were a few messages,” he said. “We were just saying that I’d bounce back, that I’m a great fighter. I have nothing but love for him. I don’t have no grudges.” 

Joshua and Fury’s camps recently signed a deal for the £200 million megafight set to be held in the coming months.
