KADUNA: Adeboye, el-Rufai meet days after release of kidnapped RCCG members

THE General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye met with Governor Nasir el-Rufai at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna today.

The meeting came days after the septuagenarian pastor disclosed that eight members of his church kidnapped in Kaduna had been released.

Members of RCCG, Region 30, Trinity Sanctuary, Kaduna, were attacked on March 26 near Doka along the Kachia-Kafanchan Road, on their way to an Easter programme.

After almost two weeks in the clutches of their abductors, Adeboye announced on his official Twitter handle that the eight kidnapped members of the church had regained their freedom.

He added that they were taken to hospital for examination following their release.

“To the Glory of God, they are hail and healthy,” Pastor Adeboye said.

On why he visited Kaduna today, Pastor Adeboye said, “Earlier today, I decided to go out of my schedule to see my Children who God delivered from the den of the kidnappers while they were on their way to the venue of the Lets Go Fishing Exercise.

“Before leaving, the Governor appealed to me to visit the State house in Kaduna to pray for the state, its people and its leadership for peace and protection after laying hands on my Children who were sick.

“It is my prayer that the peace of and kingdom of God will be established in Kaduna State and our nation Nigeria and all locations where the children of God are across the world in JESUS name (AMEN)”.

There have been reported cases of abduction in Kaduna recently and the governor has stuck to his guns that he will never enter into peace talks with bandits come what may.

El-Rufai said even if his son was kidnapped he won’t pay ransom to secure his release but will rather “pray for him to make heaven instead”.

He added that the bandits deserved to be “wiped out”.
