WEEKS after the 3rd Mainland bridge was reopened following some repairs, the government has announced partial restriction of vehicular movement in the Opebi area.
The restriction would last for two weeks to enable the construction of a collector drain, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Transportation, yesterday.
“The first half of the culvert will commence next Friday,23rd and be completed on Sunday 25th of April, while the second and final half of the culvert will start on Friday 30th April and finish on Sunday 2nd of May, 2021,” said the Commissioner for Transportation, Frederic Oladeinde.
He noted that the lane under construction would be barred from vehicular movement, adding that a counter-flow would be created on the other lane to allow vehicles to access their desired destinations.
“Traffic management personnel will be on the ground to manage movement during this period while seeking the cooperation of motorists to minimise inconveniences during the construction,” said the commissioner.
