Musa to miss Kano Pillars’ away games due to poor roads, insecurity

AHMED Musa will not travel with his new Kano Pillars teammates to away games, it has been revealed.

The Super Eagles captain joined the Kano club earlier in April on a short-term contract, six months after leaving Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasr.

Various reports have claimed that the 28-year-old prized asset will not be risked by the club on Nigeria’s pothole and crime-infested roads for long-distance Nigeria Professional Football League matches.

However, Musa is expected to be available for all home matches, fixtures in nearby cities and games played in cities where the team can fly to.

NPFL teams travel to most of their games by road where a number of them have encountered problems with road accidents, robberies and kidnappings this year as a result of dilapidated roads and a worsening nationwide security situation.

Musa has previously played with clubs like VVV Venlo in The Netherlands, CSKA Moscow in Russia and Leicester City in England, and his special deal with Pillars allows him to return to Europe any time an offer comes for him.
