Buhari greets Ortom at 60

PRESIDENT Buhari has congratulated the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on his 60th birthday.

His congratulatory message was contained in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, titled ‘President Buhari congratulates Governor Ortom on his 60th birthday.’

The statement read, “President Muhammadu Buhari rejoices with Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

“The President joins family and friends to celebrate the governor, thanking God for a life of service to his state and the nation.

“As the former minister marks the Diamond Jubilee, President Buhari urges him to rededicate his life to working for the prosperity and well-being of the people of Benue State.

“He wishes the governor many more years in good health.”

Ortom, who defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) during the reign of Adams Oshiomhole, as the National Chairman of the ruling party, has been one of the harshest critics of the Buhari administration.
