ENUGU: Mbaka resurfaces after controversial disappearance

THE Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministry, Fr Ejike Mbaka, has ended the controversy surrounding his whereabouts by appearing before some protesters today in Enugu.

Reports of Mbaka’s alleged disapperance began earlier today when a group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, claimed that the fiery cleric was missing.

“We are giving the Federal Government 48 hours to produce the priest, else they should be ready to face Igbo youths. They were dining and wining with him all along and now that he told the truth, they are no longer comfortable with him.

“Let nothing happen to Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka. It will not be in anybody’s interest,” the group said in a statement by its president, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike.

When officials of the Diocese of Enugu, to which Fr. Mbaka belongs, were contacted, some of them said he was not missing while others said they cannot confirm his whereabouts.

Spokesperson for DSS, Peter Afunnaya, however, said Mbaka was not in the agency’s custody in an interview with PUNCH

“He (Mbaka) is not with the DSS, please,” Afunnaya said.

However, in a video trending on social media, the fiery preacher was spotted waving at his followers.

This comes after Mbaka and the Presidency’s recent face-off over the security challenges in the country.

Mbaka, who supported President Buhari during the 2015 and 2019 elections recently made a U-turn, asking Buhari to resign or be impeached for not doing enough to tackle widespread insecurity in the country.

The Presidency responded, revealing that the preacher demanding contract for the support.

He, however, did not deny and vowed to continue to call out the Buhari administration on its failings to adequately secure lives and properties of the citizens.
