KELECHI Iheanacho has been shortlisted for the Premier League Player of the Month for April.
The Super Eagles forward won the award for March after an excellent run of goals that kept Leicester City in third place.
It was his first time of ever winning the award and he is up for it again, contending with seven other players.
Iheanacho followed up his impressive March with a brilliant April, scoring four goals and making two assists in five Premier League appearances during the month.
The other seven players in contention for the award include West Ham’s Jesse Lingard, Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and West Brom’s Matheus Pereira.
The others are Burnley’s Chris Wood, Newcastle’s Allan Saint-Maximin and Leeds United’s Stuart Dallas.
Of all the nominees, Wood had the most goal involvements with seven (four goals and three assists from four matches), followed by Iheanacho and Pereira who both have four goals and two assists.
Greenwood, the youngest player on the shortlist at 19, scored four goals and made one assist in four games during the month as United maintained second place with three wins and a draw.
The winner will be determined through votes from the public, the captains of the 20 Premier League clubs and a panel of experts.
The winner will be announced next week.
