Oshoala excited by Barcelona Femeni’s league triumph

ASISAT Oshoala and her Barcelona Femeni teammates won the Spanish women’s top flight title on Sunday, leaving the Super Falcons star very happy.

The Nigeria striker played a big part in Barcelona retaining their title, scoring 15 goals in 21 appearances.

The Catalans confirmed their position as champions on Sunday when they won and Levante were unable to get victory.

Barcelona defeated Tenetife 1-0 away, while their closest challengers Levante could only draw 1-1 at Espanyol.

Levante’s failure to win on Sunday handed the Primera Division’s title to Oshoala and her teammates.

The 26-year-old could not hide her excitement, firing off a series of celebratory tweets.

“CHAMPIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNSSSSSSSS DE LIGAAAAAAAAA 2020/2021 @FCBfemeni,” one of the tweets read, displaying Oshoala’s unbridled joy.

Barcelona have won all of their 26 league matches, amassing 78 points, 16 ahead of second-placed Levante who cannot get more than 15 points for the rest of the season as they have five games left.
