A SUSPECTED bandit, Abubakar Ali, infamously known as Yellow Dan Mangoro, notorious for kidnapping women have been arrested.
Ali is alleged to be the leader of a kidnap syndicate that abducted nine women in Galape village after Galkogo, Shiroro LG, in January and received millions as ransom.
He was captured by troops recently after a clean sting operation with his weapons concealed under the seat of a motorcycle.
Recall that Governor Sani Bello had raised an alarm over criminal activities in the state.
In April, he said Boko Haram had taken over more territories after displacing residents in about 50 communities.
“I am confirming that there are Boko Haram elements in Niger state, around Kaure,” Bello said.
“I just heard that they’ve already hoist their flag in Kaure, which means they’ve taken over the territory and this is what I have been engaging the federal government with and unfortunately it has now gotten to this stage that if care is not taken not even Abuja is safe.”
