ENYIMBA forward Samson Obi has signed with a Libyan club, the Aba giants have announced.
“Enyimba Football Club can confirm that forward Samson Obi has moved to Al Nasr Club of Benghazi, Libya on a two-year contract,” the Aba giants stated on their official website on Monday.
Obi, 24, has not had a full season with Enyimba, having joined them at the start of the season.
However, he played a vital role as Fatai Osho’s side reached the quarter-final of this year’s CAF Confederation Cup, where they were eliminated by Egypt’s Pyramids FC.
He is described by the club as “a powerful and pacy forward who loves running at defenders, making a remarkable impact on the team in his short stay in Aba.”
Enyimba Chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu, said: “Samson Obi’s contribution to Enyimba was immense and we wish him very well in his new club. He is a talented player and his star will shine brighter from here on. We believe that he will become a good ambassador of Enyimba and we pray for the best for him.”
The transfer fee is undisclosed as Obi switches to the Benghazi club that won the Libyan title in 2018 and are currently top of Group 1 of the Premier League.
