IMO: Woman dies from stray bullet as gunmen, security operatives clash

A GUN duel between security operatives and unknown gunmen this afternoon in Owerri left a businesswoman dead.

The shoot-out was a result of the attack on Orji Divisional Police Headquarters, which hoodlums burnt.

The woman, who sold provisions at Hardel junction, Orji, near the scene of the incident was hit by the flying bullet in her shop.

Her corpse was lying on the floor as her relatives and neighbours wailed helplessly.

The victim, who was in her ’60s was a grandmother, said an eyewitness.

Also, another person was hit by a stray bullet on her leg.

The girl was said to be filming the scenario when the stray bullet hit her on one of her legs.
