‘It’s the club I support’: Onuachu ‘dreams’ Arsenal move

SUPER Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has declared his love for Arsenal, hoping to one day play for the Premier League club.

The Genk star has had a fantastic season in Belgium, scoring 35 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions and helping his current club finish second in the Pro League and earn a spot in the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds.

The 26-year-old was rewarded on Monday night with the Belgian Pro League Player of the Year award as voted for by his fellow professionals.

After the ceremony in Brussels, Onuachu reiterated his love for the Gunners amid speculation linking him with a move away from Genk.

Having been linked with Liverpool, Onuachu insists it is with Arsenal he has his heart set on.

“I just wanted to work harder this season, and I’m happy to be rewarded with this award,” the Nigeria international told Eleven Sports, relayed by Walfoot via Sport Witness.

“Arsenal is my dream club. It’s the club I support, that I like to watch and who’s style of play I like.

“However, I am still in Belgium and I am still a Genk player.”

Onuachu joined Genk in August 2019 from FC Midtjylland for €6 million and his contract expires in June 2024.
