Osimhen will be offensive force under new Napoli manager Spalletti — Agent

VICTOR Osimhen will be an important player for Luciano Spalletti if the new Napoli manager is to succeed at the club, the Nigeria striker’s agent has declared.

Spalletti was appointed on Friday as replacement for Gennaro Gattuso who left Napoli at the end of the Serie A season after the club fell short of fourth place and UEFA Champions League qualification.

Osimhen’s agent William D’Avila believes his client is just the right man to lead the line for Spalletti’s team and bring success to Napoli.

“It will be great for the team to have a top coach like him [Spalleti]. 4-2-3-1 will be the formation and Victor will be the offensive force,” D’Avilla told Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“Champions League? He is disappointed with the lack of qualification, but the Europa League is a prestigious tournament.

“It was incredible, Victor was sure they would beat Verona. I don’t know what happened during the game.

“He is in Nigeria with his family and will then join the national team for two friendlies before going on vacation.”

Osimhen cost Napoli €70m from Lille last summer but struggled with injuries and illness in the first few months at the Italian club.

He however found form and fitness in the final stretch of the campaign and ended the season with 10 goals in 24 Serie A appearances.
