LAGOS: CP sets up special squad for traffic robbery

POISED to tackle the menace of rising cases of traffic robbery in Lagos State, the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has set up a special squad to go after miscreants who have been terrorising innocent residents and get rid of them.

  The police boss inaugurated the squads on Friday, June 11, at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja. Odumosu equally released some crime fighting equipment and modern communication gadgets to the squads for efficiency and better service delivery.

  He stated that some of the identified areas like Eko Bridge, Apongbon, Cele, Ijora, Ojota/7up, Mike 12, and Surulere, must be cleared of miscreants and traffic robbers with immediate effect.

  While assuring the general public of adequate security of lives and property in the State, the CP reiterated that police personnel in the command would religiously discharge their duties within the ambit of the law.
