AFTER the win in the final of Euro 2020 against England, the Italian champions celebrated on an open top bus in Rome on Monday.

The Azzurri beat England 3-2 on penalties on Sunday night to win their second European Championship title.

The Azzurri party continued on Monday, as the players won the negotiations with the local authorities, who initially didn’t give the green light.

But Italy then received the authorisation to celebrate on an open bus and tour the streets of Rome, after having visited President Sergio Mattarella at the Quirinale Palace and then Prime Minister Mario Draghi at Palazzo Chigi.

The Italy players travelled the streets of Rome, celebrating with the fans, and the players included tennis star Matteo Berrettini in the party.

Berrettini lost the Wimbledon final on Sunday against Novak Djokovic, hours before Italy won the Euro 2020 trophy on the same London.

The Azzurri’s day ended at Hotel Marco dei Principi, where the team stayed when in Rome during Euro 2020.
