GOVERNOR Okezie Ikpeazu has sacked two of his aides for perceived ‘non-performance on their assigned roles.
Those affected are Jerry Awa, Environmental Protection Agency, manager for Ikwuano Local Government Agency; and Uzoma Asiegbu, the Deputy General Manager, Abia State Public Utilities Management Agency.
Though no reasons were given for the sacking in the statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Chris Ezem, it was gathered that the sacking was not unconnected with non-performance by the aides.
The governor yesterday directed the General Manager of ASEPA, Eze Okwulehie, to immediately take charge of the Ikwuano area, “to ensure immediate evacuation of refuse within the area, as well as engage street sweepers to clear grasses and dispose of dirt along Aba Road through the Ceramics area to Old Umuahia.”
