NOLLYWOOD family has been thrown into mourning following the passing of the popular veteran actress, Racheal Oniga, in the early hours of today.
Though initial reports in the media had claimed that, the well-loved actress , died as a result of Covid-19 complications, her sister, Deaconess Toyin Odusote in a post she made on her (Racheal’s) social media handle, said she died of heart-related disease.
Deaconess Odusote said Rachel had been suffering from the disease for while, and leaxed for public understanding to rather believe the family explanation, and allow the family mourn the passing of their mother, grandmother, sister “in private for now.”
While thanking the generous dose of love showered on the family since the news broke out, Odusote said Racheal’s burial rites would be announced later

BORN May 23, 1957 in Ebutte Metta, Lagos, Rachael, star of both stage and screen was from Eku, Delta State. Her career is recorded to have started in 1993. She had worked briefly at Ascoline Nigeria Limited, a Dutch Consultant Company
Rachel, a crossover actress, as she could act in both English and Yoruba movies, had her first major movie appearance in Onome, directed and produced by the movie mogul, Opa Williams. She went on to appear in Owo Blow directed by Wale Fanu of Cinekraft Studios, and later in Sango, produced and directed by Obafemi Lasode. She rose to become a major name and face in the Nollywood and as well as on Television soap operas, especially in Wale Adenuga’s Super Stories series.
