THE National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, has asked the Deputy National Chairman (South), Yemi Akinwonmi, to preside over the National Executive Committee meeting of the party in his stead.

In a letter to Akinwonmi today, Secondus said, “I hereby request you to preside over the National Executive Committee meeting of the Party, taking place today, 28th August, 2021@ 12 noon, in my absence.

“Thank you. “

Akinwonmi had earlier paraded himself as the authentic national chairman of the opposition party after a Rivers State court sacked Uche Secondus but the crisis was eventually resolved.

“I am a man of peace, not a man of crisis. PDP has a good succession order. There is order here. The chairman is followed by the deputy national chairman one (South), followed by the deputy national chairman two (north),” he had said.

Meanwhile, the opposition party has settled for Abuja as venue for its forthcoming national convention.
